What is Cannabinol, CBN?

Derived from the plant’s main cannabinoid; tetrahydrocannabinol, THC—CBN is a mildly psychoactive cannabinoid; some research says one fourth ¼ the potency of THC. Cannabinol is found in aged and stored cannabis, resulting in degradation that occurs when dried flower is exposed to oxidation and/or heat.

Fun fact: CBN was the first cannabinoid to be isolated and to be researched initially.

What is CBN good for?

CBN has a range of properties it can help aid, however, it’s most known for its sedating effects. Being that CBN derives from THC, some research has found the two cannabinoids together offer increased drowsiness, CBN does however heighten the effects of THC and also offer some intoxicating/euphoric effects.

CBN is not considered psychoactive, it will not cause you to become “stoned” when used alone. However, it is known to cause drowsiness in users, especially when combined with THC. This is good for individuals who suffer from insomnia or have problems sleeping.

While the effects of CBN and CBD together are similar as THC:CBN does, with milder or no intoxicating effects; some research finds the two can counteract each other. As for some when it comes to appetite, CBD suppresses your appetite and CBN enhances it.

Please note CBN is a fairly understudied cannabinoid, and is recommended to do your research to further expand. However with any cannabis format, effects vary on every individual. There are some amazing formats of CBN we encourage to try and research on, as options we carry, offer varied formats of consumption.

CBN Oils:

Medipharm Labs Nighttime Formula CBN:THC

Vapes:

Food and Beverage:

Ace Vally CBN Blackberry Lemon Dream soft chews

If looking for a high CBN flower, again CBN is developed from cannabis over a period of time and with oxygen/heat, so feel free to age and store your cannabis over sometime to develop this cannabinoid. Or consider certain strains that offer higher, more than 0.3% of CBN, are usually: Kosher Kush, Purple Sour Diesel, Lemon Kush, Super Green Cush.
