An introduction to microdosing
For many of the cannabis curious, the thought of buying all the paraphernalia (and not really having a clue as to how to use it), smelling like a country skunk and the possibility of consuming too much just makes the juice not worth the squeeze. That is, many people are interested in the effects of cannabis without the bud and smoke. This has contributed to the rise in the cannabis trend of Microdosing.Â
What exactly is microdosing? Well, it is as simple as it sounds: a micro dose of cannabis. Most often presented in the form of soft-gel capsules, with various levels of THC & CBD, microdosing is a user-friendly way of introducing your system to cannabis. By slowly introducing your system to cannabis, you have more control and can more accurately take inventory of how you are feeling.Â
Interested? Letâs talk about how to start!
Firstly, if you are already a cannabis consumer and are interested in trying out microdosing, you will need to reset your endocannabinoid system. How do you do this? A mini canna-vacay for 48-72 hours is all you need to adjust your receptors and be able to enjoy microdosing.Â
Once youâre ready to try microdosing, start with 1-2mg of THC. If you consume it through a soft-gel capsule, spray or tincture, you should start to feel some effects within 30-60 minutes. Thatâs the time to check-in with yourself to see how youâre feeling. If you arenât feeling much, then that means you can increase your next dose by another 1-2mg. PS: take the new dose on a different dayâŚremember the whole point of microdosing isnât to go too crazy!
When you find your groove with how many milligrams of THC is comfortable for you, stick to that amount for at least 3 days. After the 3 days of microdosing this amount, if youâre feeling like you can handle more, go for it! Up the dosage of THC either by taking more microdose capsules or go for a capsule/oil/spray that has more THC content.Â

What if youâve only tried CBD oil and hesitant to trying any amounts of THC? Microdosing THC alongside CBD can help many individuals have a more well-rounded experience and enhances the effects of CBD. An example of a balanced THC:CBD microdosing capsule is Argyle by Tweed with almost a 1:1 ratio.Â
Rememberâthe point of microdosing is not to get stoned; itâs to get out there and enjoy your life by introducing a little funk without the skunk.Â
